Abstract Policies and Procedures
Edits to My Abstract
I understand that all abstracts will be printed and published as submitted by the author. AAI is not responsible for and will not copy edit abstract submissions. As an author, I may log into the abstract submission platform and edit my abstract until the close of regular abstract submissions on December 5, 2023. Edits will not be accepted after December 5, 2023, and the abstract will be published as it has been submitted.
Withdrawals
If you wish to withdraw an accepted abstract for any reason, you must log into our abstract submission platform by the withdrawal deadline of March 15, 2024 and withdraw your abstract there.
Withdrawal of an invited and accepted abstract after the withdrawal deadline or failure to present an invited and accepted abstract could result in disqualification from presenting an abstract at future AAI annual meetings.
Resolution of Personal Conflicts of Interest
It is the policy of IMMUNOLOGY2024™ that all speakers, presenters, abstract authors, abstract reviewers, and staff disclose and resolve any real or apparent conflicts of interest relating to the topics. The intent of the disclosure is to provide the audience with information on which they can make their own judgments on program content.
Research Regulations
With regard to research using human subjects, AAI endorses the protections embodied in the Basic Principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and their expansion in the regulations governing research supported by the U.S. Government (45 CFR Part 46; 56 FR 28003). AAI does not endorse and will not publish the results of research that was not conducted in accordance with these Principles. Investigations involving animals reported in abstracts must have been conducted in conformance with the FASEB Statement of Principles for the use of animals in research and education.
All research reported in this abstract was conducted in compliance with the above rules and regulations.
Embargo and Copyright Policy
Abstracts are considered official communications of the meeting. The presenting author and co-authors must comply with the IMMUNOLOGY2024™ embargo policy that states abstracts must be based on results that have not been previously published and are not anticipated to be published before the meeting UNLESS the publication occurs AFTER the deadline for abstract withdrawal. Abstracts must not be submitted if previously presented at a national or international meeting unless substantial new findings are included.
Authors and co-authors transfer any copyrights and agree to release the abstract for future publication as it relates to IMMUNOLOGY2024™ and grant permission to IMMUNOLOGY2024™ to audio/video record or still photograph podium presentations for later sale and/or publication. The American Association of Immunologists owns the copyrights to all abstracts accepted for presentation in perpetuity. Presenting authors maintain copyrights for their poster and/or presentation slides. In submitting your abstract, you also warrant that you have exercised reasonable care to ensure that the abstract is accurate and does not contain anything which is libelous, or obscene, or infringes on anyone’s copyright, right of privacy, or other rights. IMMUNOLOGY2024™ regular and late breaking abstracts are embargoed until the release of the meeting app, approximately April 4, 2024. News releases, media alerts, and news materials released in conjunction with IMMUNOLOGY2024™ must also be embargoed until this time.
Publication
I understand that IMMUNOLOGY2024™ abstracts will be published as an online supplement to The Journal of Immunology within 60 days of the end of the meeting. They will be permanently archived as part of the journal. Abstracts will also be available in the official IMMUNOLOGY2024™ App, available for both iPhone and Android, approximately 30 days prior to the opening of the meeting.
I understand that abstracts which are withdrawn or not presented at the meeting will not be included in either the meeting App or the online supplement to The Journal of Immunology.
