Postdoctoral Position in Dr. Joan Cook-Mills’ Lab at the HB Wells Center for Pediatric Research at Indiana University School of Medicine
The postdoc opening is for a highly motivated individual interested in initiation of allergy early in life. Our lab utilizes basic research and translational approaches to determine mechanisms for:
- development of food allergy in infants
- development of allergic inflammation in the lung in infants
- airway microbiome regulation development of airway allergic responses
- development of dendritic cells in the fetus and infants
- regulation of allergy in infants by maternal pro-inflammatory lipids, vitamin E isoforms, and 5-hydroxytryptophan.
Experimental approaches span molecular analysis of gene expression, cell signaling, mutant mouse models of allergic disease, and analyses of patient samples.
Candidates should have a PhD in immunology or a related field. Experience with mouse models of allergic disease, flow cytometry, molecular biology, leukocyte cell cultures, microbiome, or omics analyses are preferred.
