We are actively seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to pursue an innovative project focused on antigen discovery in regulatory T cells for type 1 diabetes in the Departments of Neurology and the Microbial Infection and Immunity in Akkaya Lab (https://akkayalab.org/). This project, funded by the NIH, presents a unique chance to delve into cutting-edge research at the intersection of T cell biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and machine learning/AI.

A strong immunology background and expertise in cloning and gene editing techniques (lenti-/retro-virus and/or CRISPR) are essential. This position is highly competitive, offering the chance to work on a project with significant potential impact. We welcome candidates who are passionate about scientific exploration and eager to contribute to meaningful research endeavors. The successful candidate will be involved in designing and executing experiments of considerable scope and complexity; collecting and analyzing data; developing and troubleshooting new experimental techniques and protocols; attending research seminars; contributing to manuscript preparation and supporting technical writing; participating in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; performing additional duties as assigned.
