The Department of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Western University of Health Sciences, has an immediate opening of a postdoctoral fellow position ($64,000 starting salary with fringe benefits). This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting, NIH- and industry-funded research team investigating anticancer activities and molecular mechanisms of natural and synthetic agents using preclinical cell culture and rodent models. By defining genetic and environmental factors-mediated signaling pathways, we are aiming to identify key targets and novel agents for prevention of cancer. We are seeking a creative and hardworking scientist to pursue collaborative research within the laboratory of Ying Huang, M.D., Ph.D.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Ph.D. or equivalent, in biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred education experience and skills:
- Tissue culture, molecular cloning, gene expression, microRNAs, immunohistochemistry and rodent tumor models
- Flow cytometry: sample preparation and data acquisition
- Genomic data analysis and interpretation
- Ability to design and execute laboratory experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to participate in the preparation of grant applications and publications
- A strong interest in anticancer drug development and research
