Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

A postdoctoral research fellowship is available within the Division of Neuroimmunology at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine.

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly driven, and independent candidate to contribute to an exciting project exploring the role of NLRX1 in regulating inflammation and neurodegeneration within the CNS using experimental models of multiple sclerosis (MS). The project will involve collaborative work between the laboratories of Dr. Marjan Gharagozloo Ph.D. and Dr. Peter Calabresi, MD.

The candidate for this position should be a recently graduated PhD (within one year) or in her/his final year of PhD studies. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with relevant experience in biomedical research, must be able to work independently and excel in teamwork within a diverse multidisciplinary setting. The candidate should be the first author of at least one research paper. Proficiency in written and oral English is a requirement.

Desired expertise includes proficiency in flow cytometry, immunoassays, cell culture, molecular biology, and working with transgenic mice. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest and prior experience in advanced microscopy and multi-omic techniques.

This research will be conducted at the Department of Neurology, Johns Hopkins Medicine, one of the top MS research centers in the United States.
